Description
When Kazimir Malevich created a new direction in art - suprematism (from the Latin supremus, "higher"), he argued that he wanted to free artists from their usual ideas about the world. In search of pure forms and pure color, he turned first to non-objective painting, and in the late 1920s — to the peasant theme. The main character in the painting "Woman with a Rake" consists of geometric figures, and the flatness of the image is enhanced by the collision of white and black: "The most important thing in Suprematism is two foundations — the energies of black and white."
